Hi Guys,

It's been a while. Just to show I haven't been totally goofing off, here's a link to a gallery showing a kenbyo(Japanese style table screen) that I finished recently. The black frame and carving is in Ebony. The waterfall is in four different alloys of shibuichi(copper/silver) with silver and gold details. The different alloys are used to gain a gradation in tone(darker toward the back). I used the foot pedal Classic for the engraved details. about 5" tall

Awesome, Jim! I have to say you've been a very bad influence on me, now that, thanks to you, I relented to the metal bug and bought a Lindsay PC. This piece is a perfect example of why the metal disease has consumed me...

Aloha Jim, Tom

There you are. I've been lusting for an AirGraver ever since you guys started talking about them. Ended up here.
Fantastic piece (again) Jim.

Aloha Tom & Karl

Resistance is futile!

Thanks for the comments, especially as you've seen it elsewhere. ;-)

"Wherever you go, there you are"

I've got another simpler waterfall in the works.

Jim,

Thank you for posting this wonderful piece!

Even in two dimensions, this photo lets the third dimension jump out at you.

I would love to see it in real space!

Hi Jim,
Beautiful piece of sculpture. Please post your next piece when it is finished. I bought a Lindsay Air Graver and I love working with it! I miss reading your comments and seeing your work.

Rod, thanks for the comments!

Dick, thanks very much as well. I thought you would like the Graver. :cheers2:

I'm hoping to finish up the next piece this week. One alloy of shibuichi with a touch of pine(& tiny gold cones) in raised inlay, some carved relief of the waterfall and rocks, and some katakiri-bori(hammer & chisel work with varying line width and depth, simulating ink stroke painting).

Hi Jim, Thank you for posting. Beautiful work!

Your sculpturing work has always been inspirational to me. I remember some of the work you used to do on the knives. Do you have some pics of them on your harddisk that would be easy to post?

Thanks again, Steve

I like that very much. I just returned from Japan, and the spirit of this piece fits with many pieces I saw while I was there. great work!
