Hey guys, Here is a picture of another item I did using the Palmcontrol to do sculpting and chasing of the surface. This grasshopper is initially done with repousse on 22G Argentium sterling silver. The background was then "chased" or stippled using the PC with a 1mm diameter slightly curved planisher. It took only a few hours versus doing this with hammer and punch would have taken a few millenia. Also, not the hairs or spikes on the underside of the hindleg. That area was sculpted using the PC giving much finer results that I've heretofore accomplished with chasing punches. That's great.

What is the size and how thick the material?
Silver I assume?

THanks,

Ray

Ray, It measures 6"x9" and is 20 gauge (0.032 inch, as I recall) Argentium sterling silver. The argentium means that it's 92.5% silver, 6.5% copper and 1% germanium. That last part prevents tarnishing and firescale. Jim

Sorry. It's 22 gauge, not 20 gauge. Jim

Very nice work.
What is it going on -or- used for?
Just practice?

Danny, Thanks. I will have it mounted and framed. I'm selling them through galleries and at some point will probably attempt to sell them through my website (http://www.luminousglass.com). Jim
