Welcome Alain, :waving:
Glad you have joined the group. Alain or Roland, how far is a drive between you? Do you both live in the same city?

Alain, if you have pictures of your engravings on your harddrive I know we would enjoy seeing them. If you're not sure how to post pictures you could email them to me and I'll add them to the post here on the forum.

Welcome Alain, it is great to have an artist of your stature posting here. I have been an admirer since I saw your work in The Art of Gun Engraving by Gaier & Sabatti. Is your usual language Flemish, Dutch or French?

Hello Alain and welcome!
I really wanted to participate in this years Grand Masters program, but I know that my skills aren't good enough yet. Maybe some other time, some other place.

Alain,
It was good to spend some time with you again in Reno this year. You should post here more often; I still have those notes on the napkin we jotted down a couple years ago at the Atlanta airport.

I'm ready for another note taking session:hurray:

Hi guys, thank you for your welcome!

Steve, I'll post some pictures very soon.

Ray,
I appreciate your style of engraving too. I have seen the great repair work that you have made on a Lebeau-Courally. A very good interpretation of the "Belgian scrolls " . But what I prefer is the beautiful gold inlaid knife with these carps swimming under the water-lilies. Wonderful idea and perfect execution!

Roger,

I stay in the Walloon part of Belgium, in the Ardennes ( not far from Bastogne, the" Battle of the Bulge", you know? My mother still remembers the US soldiers that cold winter 1944!). People speak French and also an old dialect there. My name is of German origin because of my grandfather who was from the German border but I know only a very little of this language. The North is Flemish. Complicated ?

Alain, I wish to add my welcome. It is such a pleasure to be able to meet and become friends with the world's best engravers. It was not long ago that being able to meet a few of the best American engravers seemed to be the highlight of my life and anything beyond that was just a pipe dream. What a great life it is to live these days! Regards, Sam.

Hello Sam,
I'm happy to hear from you. Yes, you are right, we live a great life these days!
The interest for the art of engraving is growing and we have now more opportunities to go out the workshop and show our work.
Best regards,
Alain
