I have'nt put a picture here for at least two hours.....so here's another!
It's an oldie that some of you might remember seeing in the mags in 97. Another of Peter Nelsons excellent and beautifully made double rifles.

My God Man, I dont know what to say... This nearly leaves me speechless. I wish there were more photo's of it and close up's. It is so beautiful . This has to be my favorite of all your work that i have seen. The colors, the negative space, the . I have to go back and look at it more. If You have or can get more photo's of this , i would really like to see them. Phil, I have been involved in artwork most of my life, but this is the most beautiful and stunning art work i have ever seen. Along with all your other work . Not to slight all the other huge talents, I also mean this field of art... engraving. I wish I had been exposed to engraving when i was young. Thank you so much. Do you happen to have a high resolution, large image of this photo ? I would like to print this out and hang it up on my wall. Sincerely, rick woodward

That's two extra hours we could have been staring at this!!!! Haha!!

Absolutely beautiful. Is that the lighting or is this action color case hardened?

Thank-you for sharing ... as always!!

Colour case hardened Chris.

The light and dark areas of color really compliment/highlight the inlay and add a nice touch of subtlety to the scroll .... as if the placement of the color in the process were intentional. Also curious, does the color casing change the color of the inlay metal or make it more intense? Your red looks very red. Very beautiful ... and thank you again.

The colour hardening does,nt change the colour of the gold it just enhances it.
That picture was scaned from an original and had to be tweeked a little, that's why the red looks the way it does.

Phil...I first saw this beautiful engraved double rifle with the leopard in a book on British Guns & British Engravers. Your animal and bird anatomy is absolutely stunning. Thank you for sharing. Keep up the good work.

Yours truly,
