Hello people,

My name is Tijmen, 20 years old, from the Netherlands. My (technical) English is not so good, so i think i ain't gonna post much.
I'm a student at De Vakschool in Schoonhoven, that's the school voor gold and silversmiths in the Netherlands.

Daniel Houwer gave me this site because i am looking for information, especially Damasceen for now, because the teacher, who should know a lot about is, didn't know how to speak the word.
I have to search for myself, and i have seen a lot of great things already on this site.

greets,

Tijmen

Hi Tijmen.
Nice to see you have joined the forum.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to envite you to try and figure out the Damascening in my workshop today!
I think whe got somewhere. Especially the overlay of 0.1mm of gold and silver opens new posibility's. Stil like the Intarsia/Damasceen combo though. The whole day did raise some questions too. Where does Damascening end and the Intarsia starts or what are the exact definitions on the two techniques.
Forgot to take picture's and that's a bit of a pitty but hopefully you can take some of the results later.

By the way, what did you think of working with the Lindsay PC? Better than the hammer and chissel no? Wait till you get to setting stone's! :drool5:
The HC and pushgravers will have to do for you from now on.

Just wish I had the time to do this every friday!

Greetings and thanks for a nice day playing with metal.
Allso thanks to Barry Lee Hands and Paul 66 for their tutorials and to PSBond for posting this link http://www.kougei.or.jp/english/crafts/0813/f0813.html
(Tijmen, ergens in deze link staat de tip over de herts gewei pons en de rest)

Daniel.
