Those of you who are interested in miniture machining or just maching in general, there a couple of magazines out there if you don't know about them. One is " The Home Shop Machinist" and the other is "Projects in Metal." I used to know the publisher but if you do a google I am sure you will find them. Very educational.

I built my own cnc a couple of years ago. It has a 4 x 6 table. I used 5/8 ball screws, 350 oz/in. steppers. It's a beast. I use K Cam software and Bobcad for g-code generating. It's pretty cool.
