Default Pearl engraving

Hi everyone, I'm a banjo maker and I haven't done much metal engraving on my instruments (yet). This banjo is going to have some metal engraving on it but I haven't started that yet. Just thought I'd post the head stock engraving I just finished. Hope you like it. Kevin

Thanks! I've been using a Lindsay palm graver along with various hand gravers. I fill it with black Lacquer Stick from Brownell's, but I've been wanting to try enamel paint to see how well it fills. Thanks again, Kevin

So is the process for this that you engrave the material and then cut the background of the shape away followed by cutting that shape out of the wood and inserting the piece? It is beautiful.
