Default First Knife Engraving in a while...

hello folks, here is a little Henckels pocket knife I just finished yesterday.

The bolsters are nickel silver, which I find a bit difficult to cut, esp. the finer lines.

My boys constructed an improvised light tent, and took these pics for me. I wonder if I should have lightly gone over the shading with fine grit paper? I'm not happy with the way the ink looks either. I can see where I need to clean it up some more.

It was good practice, and I have another knife in the works right now, along with my spyderco in waiting. I'm hoping I can get better shading in the stainless steel.

Thanks for any comments and suggestions!

take care,

Tom

Very nice work Tom. Engraving nickle silver is like engraving a frozen piece of bubble gum. Kind of a pain in the butt! You did an excellent job. Can't wait to see the next one.

I really love this one Tom, I like the one without the background but this one really looks slick!
