Re: Acanthus gorget necklace
Hi Mark. Acanthus is timeless and has been used for ornament as far back as ancient Greece. It sorta burned itself out in the Victorian period and was sadly replaced with Art Nouveau and the modernist art period somewhere in the late 1800s.
I enjoy seeing ornamental work that has a healthy dose of acanthus influence.
Your work is wonderful.
