Here is a higher resolution pic of a Busfield. The design was continued into pearl.

I remember that one. I was really impressed with the transition from the pearl to the bolsters.

Beautiful as your engraving always is.

Thanks for showing it.

Thanks!
Daniel, Yes, I used the same tool do the pearl as the metal. 116 degree V. You need to take it easy cutting the pearl and only take light cuts. Even some of the main outlines are too deep to try and take in one pass. If you try to cut them in one pass it sometimes splinters the edge of the cut.

Beautiful piece Steve! Thanks for giving us beginners a high bar to work towards. Seeing the close-up shot is really educational!

Steve ... this is simply breathtaking. Absolutely beautiful. I'm happy I checked in to see this!! A fine example of bank note shading on a perfectly executed design and layout.

Steve,

These pictures of your beautiful work are a treasure to study, thank you for posting them at different resolutions!

Your illusion of depth is wonderful, but your cuts are very real!

best

Rod

Steve, what can one say. Awesome. beautiful, expertly done, your lines are so freaking clean. The mother of pearl turned out so well too.
