Default The 'NELSON GUN' Working drawings

Peter visited me yesterday with the second Nelson gun. He also brought the original and his portfolio which included my original drawings, working drawings and rubbings.
The last time I saw these was in 1986! I just thought that forum members might be interested in seeing some of the process that goes into engraving a gun.

Phil

Just stunning.

I'm assuming that this is part of the gun's display - that's a wonderful idea, allowing people to fully appreciate the treasure they're looking at.

That is a wonderful honor and achievement to have your layout and designs matted and framed by Peter Nelson. Thank-you for sharing and thank-you for making this such an interesting and exciting forum. There's nothing more wonderful than a perfect illustration of the exciting battles between the old "ships of the line" on the high seas. I can just hear the cannon and smell the acrid smoke as it engulfs the frenzy!!!
